It all started back in mid 2014. Remains from the Reincarnated [RI] was created, a guild that was focused on improving players' capabilities in WvW and having fun fighting enemy groups no matter how tough it got.
The guild was brewing for about 9 months, and shortly after Jak decided to open the guild for others and started recruiting around April 2015. First gathering members from a guild called FIRE, which he'd been playing WvW with prior. The guild grew, we had a small tight group of focused players ready for WvW raiding. We got better, and stronger every raid. Starting to get noticed by others. Making a name for ourselves.
By the time Heart of Thorns (an expansion) released, RI had grown to be a great, contesting guild. We gained more members in our organised guild and were thriving. We were a very tight-knit group of friends. Some came, some went. Together we battled many top guilds in GvGs. The battles happened in the guild halls, and open fields, we busted blobs of 40, or even 50 players as just a small 14 man group. It was a BLAST of a time for all of us, and I'm sure we all treasure these memories.
As time went on, the game started to become less active, guilds stopped playing, servers were dying. Jak started to lead open public groups more often, and lead RI to take a break from raiding. But all hope was not lost because in July 2017, Chains of the Kraken [CK] was created. A guild more focused on recruiting wider variety of people, helping them improve their skills and get correct builds for WvW. Mostly focusing on doing open public raids, with a stronger core of players to help carry pugs. Huge 50v50 fights, sometimes we did closed raids and had about 30 players to help hone skills further.
Onwards to March 2018, interest was quickly fading. We tried to move to a new game, Bless Online, and we managed to get 26 people interested in the game, but it was just a complete disaster. This lead us to quickly returning to GW2, where in June 2018 [RI] was REFORMED!
But as everything else - all good things must come to an end. And after a mere 3 months, we lost interest in GW2, for quite a few reasons. [RI] had less and less players, and even in raids we only scraped together 8 people on the worst days. And at this point, we decided to put the game to rest and move onto greener pastures.
