We started playing SoT at launch and enjoyed it very much. In the beginning, SoT lacked a lot of content, but we really enjoyed the Pirate and PvP aspect of the game. We only played the game a couple of times a week for a few hours each session.

We became very good at SoT and were masters of all 3 ships, sometimes 3-manning a Galleon or using a sloop to take on a Galleon. We had many fun PvP battles spending hours on end slaying pirates for the Skeleton raid islands. When we had a 4-man group, our main strat would be to split up in 2 groups. Jak on the wheel of the Gally, one more would stay on the ship to fire cannons, repair, and chuck water. While the other 2 would board the enemy ship, dropping their anchor, fighting the enemy players to disrupt them. This worked most of the time, and for the other two ship types, we would do the same, but only 1 person would board and fight the enemy instead.

After a year of playing once or twice a week, Jak hit Pirate Legend, it was quite an exciting moment because the grind can seem like it's a lot of effort. We definitely had a lot of good memories in this game. We stopped playing mostly because we didn't enjoy the direction the game was going. Even with the introduction of Arena, it was not what we expected and then we called it a day with the Sea of Thieves.
